Luke Smith

Artist

After honing his skills as a premiere session musician for a who’s who of multi award winning artists including George Michael, Amy Winehouse, Chaka Khan or Phil Collins to name but a few, Luke Smith is stepping out of their shadows with the release of his first EP ‘It’s Time’.

The perfect amalgamation of modern jazz-fusion and old soul, this debut is a masterclass in alchemy.  His compositions and signature playing styles, supported by a handful of extremely talented musicians friends make his subtle blend of genres feels vintage and modern.

The EP sounds honest and organic; you are transported by the lush instrumentation, the sincerity in the playing, the warmth of the keys and the overall superb musicianship.

Luke Smith takes us on a personal journey while paying homage to its pioneers: Roy Ayers and D’Angelo on ‘It’s Time’ with the former featuring alongside bass legend Pino Palladino, and George Duke on the Samba-infused ‘Message To Brazil’.

To celebrate his 50th birthday, Luke released the single ‘It’s Time’ featuring Roy Ayers which got added to the two biggest Jazz playlists on Spotify, creating a buzz that laid the ground for his EP and the music to come.

Luke Smith the artist under his own name has landed, and it’s just the beginning…
